Ryan Dreyer plays online at Full Tilt Poker

South African player Ryan Dreyer started out in poker by playing small stakes Seven-Card Stud Hi/Lo. He first tried his hand at Texas Hold ‘em in 2005 and spent the next two years improving his game. After cashing several times in local tournaments, Ryan decided to enter bigger buy-in events.

In 2007, Ryan cashed at the Million Dollar Sun City Poker Tournament and was runner up at a Poker Ace Event held at Gold Reef City Casino. In 2008, he won the $3K No-Limit Hold 'em event at the Million Dollar Sun City Shuffle-Up Poker Tournament, taking home $650K. Ryan won a Poker Ace Tournament for over R260K and cashed in the 2008 WSOP $1.5K Seven-Card Stud Hi/Lo event. He is ranked as the top live tournament player in South Africa.   

Ryan has spent hundreds of hours analyzing televised tournament footage as the lead commentator for the 24-hour All Africa Poker Channel. In 2009, he was appointed Editor of Bluff Magazine South Africa.

Ryan played golf professionally for 11 years, competing in the South African Sunshine tour. During his career, he made the cut in over 100 golf tournaments. He retired from professional golf in 2006, but returned to the game as an amateur in January 2009. Ryan won the 2009 South African Amateur Championship.
